Reconstruct ingress/egress ramps
At the junction of two of the country’s interstate arteries, the I-80/I-55 interchange was in need of virtually a complete rebuild. The option to simply mill and resurface the original roadways was impractical, based on IDOT’s updated design criteria. The only viable option was start from scratch and build all new access and egress ramps, as well as the “cloverleaf.”
Gallagher joint ventured this project with P.T. Ferro Construction and D Construction, two other respected Joliet-based paving contractors. Coordination among the three companies was integral to completing this project in the most expedient manner. From start to finish, the project ran for fourteen months.
