Kedzie Avenue/Olympian Way reconstruction & improvements

Eventually all roads deteriorate to the point that they need resurfacing or even possibly rebuilding from the ground up—especially when numerous improvements are to be introduced. Such was exactly the case with the section of Kedzie Avenue that starts just south of Governor’s Highway in Flossmoor and runs south into the older section of Olympia Fields.

A project of this magnitude requires a full spectrum of contracting services: original surface removal, excavation, installation of all new sewer and drainage, laying down aggregate base, paving base/binder and surface courses, and of course finishing work of curb & gutter, striping and landscaping. Gallagher served as both the general contractor and the excavation/paving contractor, and handled better than 80% of all required services directly, with the balance of required services subcontracted to trusted specialty service companies.
