I-94 Bishop Ford

Achieved on Chicago’s most heavily traveled section of interstate, this project required unprecedented planning. The coordination of patch removal and replacement was critical. Work could not begin before 9pm and the entire expressway needed to be swept, re-striped and open to traffic by 5am for morning rush hour.

The 2.3 miles of expressway had over 24 lane miles of work to be done which involved full depth patching (2,000 SYs), full width grinding, and three layers of Polymer modified asphalt (50,000 tons).
