Asphalt PLANT OPERATIONS MANAGER

The Asphalt Plant Operations Manager reports directly to the Vice President of Operations. This role is delegated full authority, consistent with the responsibility for the administration, control, direction and supervision of all processing plant and site operations (HMA and RAP Processing) at our Thornton, Joliet, Bourbonnais, and MAT Asphalt plants. This person strives for operational excellence by providing clear and consistent standards to plant personnel regarding plant operations, scheduling, material requirements, maintenance, safety, production, quality, housekeeping and records and reporting and manages capital improvement projects within budgets. This role is responsible for exercising values-based leadership by setting clear and attainable goals for plant teams, and holding each team member accountable by inspiring, mentoring, training/development, providing feedback through regular communication, evaluations of direct reports and engagement. The Asphalt Plant Operations Manager is accountable for all plant-related scheduling and coordination with construction areas and quality control personnel. This person establishes safety as a top priority, maintaining awareness of, and compliance to all applicable regulatory requirements for the Plants, and is continually alert of employees' level of safety consciousness. This role promotes positive, constructive communication with various organizational leaders to provide for the needs of the plants and build teamwork and collaboration across the organization.


PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT

The Project Superintendent is responsible for scheduling field operations to achieve timely and profitable completion, while simultaneously meeting quality and safety benchmarks. This role actively provides support to the construction foremen and their field crews. This person must demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication, digital and technical abilities, and the ability to effectively react to changing conditions. Occasional night work may be required, however, there is no out of town travel. The primary duties of the Project Superintendent are to facilitate the smooth progress of each project, including work preparation, scheduling all Gallagher crews and subcontractor forces, daily management of all field activity, and thorough completion of our contracted project work through close-out. This is a full-time position.


PROJECT ENGINEER

We are actively looking for a Project Engineer to join our dynamic Construction team! This qualified team member will be a motivated, hard-working individual with strong communication skills. This role must be an innovative thinker, resourceful, and approach each day with a can-do attitude. This role assists in job bidding and overall job management. The Project Engineer works closely with all members of the construction team, as well as subcontractors, suppliers, and owners, helping with business-related functions including, estimating, subcontractor management, project close-outs, and profitability analysis. This is a full-time position.


STOREROOM SPECALIST 2 (CDL REQUIRED)

The Storeroom Specialist 2 assists with the set-up and fueling of the company's service vehicles under the direction of the construction department. This role also assists with small tool management, repairs, and documentation of the location of all tools. Additionally, this person assists in all operations of the storeroom including maintaining stock levels, ensuring inventory accuracy, and issuing, receiving, organizing, and maintaining cleanliness of the storeroom. This role also assists in facilities management as needed. This is a full time, on-site, seasonal position (Guaranteed March - December with possible extension). Candidates MUST have CDL license to be eligible for this role. This person must have the ability to work variable schedules depending on Construction and Plant operations. Afternoon and evening hours are required for this position (2nd shift position 11:00am - 7:30pm). This position may require late evening and/or weekend hours (Saturdays) during peak season (May-November). This role is overtime eligible.
